Make a list

You should make a list of the things you want to do and places you want to see. Include everything you want to do, but make sure you have time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Ideally, you should make two to three stops a week; anything more than that would be stressful.

Accommodation

This is the most important aspect of your honeymoon. You need to stay at a good hotel that provides modern facilities and excellent guest service. A Bintan island resort will certainly be an excellent idea. You have many choices, including The Residence Bintan. Think about the cost, the distance to popular attractions, hotel packages, and discounts – most hotels offer honeymoon packages that offer free activities and complimentary meals.

Best time to visit

The season from April to October is the best time to visit Bintan. The dry weather conditions and minimal rainfall will make for a fun getaway filled with adventure. The temperatures during this time stay at around 26 degrees. But keep in mind that hotels get sold out fast, so you might want to make your reservation well in advance – look out for early bird offers.

Mountain trekking

For a truly adventurous experience, climb Gunung Bintan, the tallest mountain with a height of 340 metres. The hike will also be a journey into nature. You’ll wade through a lush forest inhabited by wild animals like monkeys, deer, and eagles. Once you get to the top of the mountain, your reward will be the beautiful views, and you’ll also have the chance to sample exotic fruits like jackfruits and durians.

Sample local food

For another unique experience, visit the small roadside stalls and restaurants to sample local food. Bintan has a diverse food palette. Tapai, otak otaks, stir-fried mussels, and fried calamari are some of the must-try food items.

Wakeboarding

For something uniquely adventurous, try wakeboarding. You’ll be towed behind a watercraft while standing on a wakeboard. You can try to stand still, but the point is to perform mid-air tricks. If you don’t have any previous experience in wakeboarding, speak to an instructor. Don’t worry; this is an easy sport to learn.

Jet skiing

This is an excellent way to impress your partner and satiate your inner adventurer. Jet skiing is one of the most thrilling and exhilarating water sports. If you are new to jet skiing, you should take it slow and be patient; you should also enlist the help of an instructor.

Kayaking

Kayaking sounds like an easy activity, but when you wade through the thick growth of mangroves in Bintan, it becomes an adventurous activity. A kayaking trip in Bintan is a great chance for you to spot some of the local wildlife. The duration of the trip is about one and a half hours, and the experienced local guide will regale you with many tales about locals.

Snorkelling

Snorkelling must be part of your adventurous honeymoon. The underwater world of Bintan is magical, with a diverse array of tropical fish touting different colours. You don’t have to bring your own snorkelling gear; you’ll be provided with everything you need either by your hotel or your tour operator.
